Yolanda Michelle Fanthenia Powell was the third child born to the late Elvassie Daniel and Samuel Lewis Daniel Sr. on January 11, 1969 in Waco, Texas.
She confessed her love for Christ and served as a member at Life Cathedral Church in Waco Texas under Supt. Richard Thomas for 20 years. Yolanda transferred her membership to Acts Fellowship Church under Pastor David Booker in Waco Texas. Yolanda served as Children’s Church Advisor, Youth Ministry, Pantry Assistance, and Community Outreach volunteer within the church and in the community. She was loyal, reliable, committed and dedicated to all of the positions she held.
Yolanda attended Waco High School in Waco, Texas where she received her High School Diploma. Yolanda encouraged her family to serve the Lord in any capacity they chose. She shared everything she had with everyone and never met a stranger. She baked bread and many other sweets to give to her family, friends and community.
Most of all Yolanda loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. She provided for her family unselfishly. She loved her church and was the first to volunteer for any project.
On August 06, 1988 she met the object of her affection and married Anthone-Jerome Powell As they united as one on February 05, 2000. To this union they raised a lovely family, Diamond Nicole Daniel, (Rickey), Jabril Rahman Powell, Fath Lail Powell, Taylor Racquell Powell, and Steffie Janae Gaines.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Elvassie Daniel; father, Samuel Lewis Daniel Sr., sister, Tabetha Yvette Daniel, grandmother, Fannie Mae Bush Daniel; grandfather, Lewis Charles Daniel; uncles, Charles Ray Daniel and Joe Sanders and brothers-in-law, James Sterling and Sherman Powell.
On Thursday morning, November 05, 2020 at Providence Hospital, Yolanda reached her final destination from this earthly tabernacle.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Anthone-Jerome Powell; daughters, Diamond Nicole Daniel Fath Lail Powell, Taylor Racquell Powell and Steffie Janae Gaines; son, Jabril Rahman Powell; a dedicated niece, Whitney Daniel; grandchildren, Nevaeh Lillian Howard, and Cortez Ali Moore; god-daughter, Trelody Charade Paulk; god-grandchildren, Ar’Rhianna C Smith, Char’ Lesia R Smith and Tre’yon Elijah Jones; brothers, Samuel Lewis Daniel Jr. (Mildred), Terrance Phillip Daniel (Kathy), Donald Sterling, and Charles A Daniel; sisters, Latonia Sparazza, Samantha Sterling, Roshanda Daniel and Sabrina Hannibal; mother-in-law, Carrie Mae Ward; brothers-in-law, George Sterling and Mark Powell; sisters-in-law, Nichole Taylor and Misty Dodd; great uncle, Rev. James Daniel (Patricia); great aunt, Isabelle King; uncle, Paul Sanders; aunts, Altha Brown, (Roy) Lula Dickerson, Jessie Driver (Ollie) and Yvonne Daniel; Yolanda had a special friendship with LaTonya Mathis AKA (Business), Felecia Connor, Karen Moore, Paula Sanders and Yolanda Henley, that transformed into an unbreakable sisterhood. Yolanda had special friends that drew to her like brothers, Andrew Coleman, Shawn Anderson, AKA (Little A), Steve Gaines and Eric Henley who loved her dearly.
Yolanda showed abundant love and affection for her host of friends and family including but not limited to nieces, nephews, cousins, and honorary family members who could not be mentioned personally but are thought of loved and appreciated.
