Mrs. Willie Lee Hightower McLean was born on May 10, 1945 in Mart, Texas to Curtis Hightower Sr. and Rosie Lee Johnson.
She attended Falls County schools from Elementary through High School. She attended McLennan Community College for Cosmetology and Nursing.
She was a member of Upper Zion Baptist Church in Marlin. After moving to Waco, she became a member of the Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
She was employed at the Waco Veterans Hospital for thirty-five years.
Willie married Donnie Lee McLean in Waco, Texas. The two were happily married for twenty-six years.
Willie is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Hightower Sr. and Rosie Lee Johnson and husband, Donnie McLean.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her aunt, Lilly Pearl Green; one devoted brother, Curtis Hightower, Jr., two children: Vertis Johnson, Jr.(Sharlene) of Robinson, Texas and Kyle “Dee Dee” Johnson of Lancaster, Texas, granddaughters, Talaya Clanton of Boston, Mass; Robbie Pullen (Brian) of Ft Worth, Texas; Tameka Hyman (Rocky) of Atlanta, Georgia, Roselynn and Rose Lee of Waco, Texas, Antoinette Boston (Terry) of Frisco, Texas, Anglela Inubiaraiye (Joshua), MaRonda Thompson, Mariah Carter (Kevon) of Austin, Texas and Taye (Tristan) Conway; grandsons, Vertis Johnson III, Vertis Johnson IV, Armani Johnson of Round Rock, Texas; Curtis Johnson of Waco, Texas and Erin Brown of Dallas, Antoine Thompson and De’Audrick Veal and a devoted cousin, Georgia Henry of Marlin Texas, a host of great-grandchildren, a host of loving cousins, relatives and friends.
