Roy Eugene Hyson entered life on October 6, 1946, the third of six children born to the union of Marshall Hyson and Virginia Benford Hyson in Waco, Texas.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Hood Street Church of Christ in Waco, Texas, until his health began to fail.
Roy is a veteran of the US Marine Corp, worked for Central Texas Iron Works and Tejas Logistics Systems for many years and for the Doris Miller Veterans Center until his health began to fail.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Hyson; paternal grandparents, Tommy and Regaina Hyson and maternal grandparents, Hugh and Ethel Benford.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stewart Hyson of Waco, Texas; mother, Virginia Hyson of Waco, Texas; son, Roy (Joyce) Hyson, Jr. of Houston, Texas; daughters, Teresa (Gerald) Hester of Houston, Texas, Sherry Hyson of Houston, Texas and LaShawn (Roy) Harbert of Mexia, Texas; step son, Steven Johnson; brothers, Marshall Hyson, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas and Tommy (Bunena) Hyson of Benton, Louisiana; sisters, Virginia Burris of San Antonio, Texas, Mary (Gene) Hicks of Waco, Texas and Carol Dugat of Waco, Texas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of family, friends and relatives.
