Rosie Mary Bridgewater Barefield was born on April 18, 1931 to Charlie and Ica Bridgewater in Harrison Switch, Texas.
She was married to Raymond Barefield in April of 1981.
Rosie was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for over 50 plus years.
Mrs. Barefield took pride in being a stewardess at Tommy Tucker's restaurant where she hosted numerous well-known celebrities while living in Los Angeles, California. Afterward, Mrs. Barefield moved to Houston, Texas where she cared for and adored her two god-children, Eric and Dori, and assisted their parents' Micheal and Michelle Brown until she retired and relocated to Waco, Texas in 2018.
Rosie Mary Barefield departed this life on Saturday, August 6, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ica Bridgewater; husband, Raymond Barefield; one grandson, Malcom Battle, Jr.; and five brothers.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted niece, Ruby Keys; nephews, Charles Bridgewater, Sr. and wife, Janet of Mart Texas; Walter Bridgewater and Gerald Bridgewater and wife, Zada all of Waco, Texas: step-daughter, Deloris Hice and husband, James; step-son, Malcolm Battle, Sr. and wife, Mary; grandchildren; special cousin, Mary White; special friends, Wanda Joseph and Earlene Smith; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
