Robert Andrews was born on June 11, 1964, to Cynthia Deloatch and Emmanuel Powell in New Brunswick, New Jersey, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended New Brunswick High School.
Robert joined the military in 1982 and became a decorated veteran while honorably serving for a combined 20 years in the Army and the National Guard. While serving in the Army he received the following decorations and medals: National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon Numeral 2, Southwest Asia Service Medal W/3 Bronze Service Stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and many more.
During his service in the military, Robert was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas where he met the love of his life, Mattie. Aside from his devotion to being a caring husband, he dedicated much of his time and energy to his grandchildren. His family knew if anything was broken take it to “Pop-Pop” because he was going to figure out how to fix it.
Robert is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Mattie Andrews of Waco, Texas; step-father, William Deloatch of North Brunswick, New Jersey; children, Robert Andrews Jr., Shakeeria Majors (Tavaris, Sr.), and LaDamion Majors all of Waco, Texas, Tiera Johnson of Rancho Cucamonga, California; brothers, Sam Andrews (Juanita) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, David Andrews (Tanya) of Metuchen, New Jersey, Ammanuel Harrison of New Bern, North Carolina; sisters, Sylvia Speed (Jamie) of Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Loretta Deloatch of Highland Park, New Jersey, Bernice Deloatch of Somerset, New Jersey, Tammie Jackson of Stafford, Virginia; sister-in-law, Alice Quigley (Derrick) of Waco, Texas; brothers-in-law, Bobby Majors (Carolyn), James Majors all of Waco, Texas, and Robert Clay (Janet) of San Francisco, California; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
