Richard Lee Layman was born March 28, 1947 to O.C. Layman and Eva Mae Henley in Gholson, Texas. He was the 3rd child of eight children.
He attended Moore High School in Waco Texas After school he began his career with the United States Air Force and received many awards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.C. Layman and Eva Mae Henley Layman, and his siblings, Louis Alfred Toliver, Shirley Ann Carter, Samuel William Chappell, Gary Wayne Chappell, Carolyn Sue Estelle, and Norma Kay Henley.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his four children, Qutenin Layman, Leila Israel (Josiah), Richard Layman, Jr. (Lilian Alonzo), and Annie Williams; sisters, Carrie Johnson Thomas (Charles) and Octavia Miller ( Marvin); devoted niece, (sister) Sharon Zachery (Vick) all of Dallas Texas; devoted friend, Evon Johnston and a host of children from his blended families; one uncle, Rev. Alfred Henley; one aunt, Merle Coumpy; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.
