Richard Green Sr. Obituary

Richard Lee Green Sr. was born on December 4, 1952, to the union of Louis Green and Margaret Green in Waco, Texas.

He attended Jenkins Elementary, G.W. Carver and Richfield High.

Richard became a member of Hopewell Baptist Church at an early age.

In his early years, he worked at Paul Quinn College. He also worked at LL Sams Church Furniture, Hillcrest Baptist Hospital, and Masonic Grand Lodge. He retired from Clifton Upholstery due to his disability.

Richard had a great love for football and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved good music, singing, dancing and he had a passion for cooking and enjoyed his lucky lottery scratch-offs. He was one of the family comedians that made us laugh until we cried. He loved to joke with his nieces and nephews. He had a great love for his family and his grandchildren. He loved coming to the church on Easter Sunday to hide the eggs and help the little ones find them.

He was preceded in death by a son, Garland Silmon; father, Louis Green; great-grandson, Royalty Silmon; his maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Verba Silmon; brother, Michael Green Sr.; his father-in-law, Joycel Clark; mother-in-law, Lilya Clark and a host of other relatives.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Joyce Green, his mother; sons, Richard Jr. (Anitra), Christopher Clark, Rymone Clark (Jacqueline), and Terrance Clark; daughters, Sharonica Silmon and Krystal Graves (Ryan); grandsons,  Richard Silmon II, D’Jour Silmon, Jayden Clark, Cameron Clark, and Bryce Graves; granddaughters, Briana Davison, Christall Outland, Riketra Silmon, Ellysia Silmon Bowman, Rylee Graves, Kaydyn, Mya Clark and Layla Clark; nine great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; brother, Darrell Green (Sheila); sisters, Beverly Mollett (Herbert), Gwendolyn Jones (Victor), Rejenne Calhoun (Castiderra); loving aunt, Mary Louse Hubby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
