Raymond Lee Davis was born on April 22, 1948, in Waco, Texas to the late Mr. William Davis and the late Mrs. Mary Jane (Hardin) Davis. Four children were from to this union. The late Samuel Earl Davis, the late Velma Louise (Davis) Clachar, and the late William Davis Jr. He had precious aunts who all preceded him in death.
He was born in Texas to sharecroppers. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. He left Texas to further his education and received his master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. He worked tirelessly with inner-city programs in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Raymond loved to set up programs in schools and had a passion to mentor inner-city kids, which he referred to as one of his greatest achievements. He forever encouraged his family to get all the education possible and complete degrees. He loved his family. His final profound thought was because of family, “I am the luckiest man in the world.” He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted nephew, Stuart (Amanda) Bernard Walker along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Upon his mother’s death, Raymond gained additional sibling when his father married the late, Verda Tucker Davis.
Raymond also leaves to morn: three sisters and five brothers who will miss him dearly, Marilyn Monroe, Vera Davis Worthy, Maggie (Earl) Stinnett, Jimmy (Phyllis) Davis, Don Davis, Printiss (Edna) Tucker, Raymond Tucker, Ricky Tucker, the late Estella Tucker Jackson, the late Robert Tucker, and the late Marshall Lee Davis.
