Oscar Lee Hilliard Sr., was born on February 16, 1924 to the parentage of Ollie and Myrtal Hilliard.
He was employed in many different industrial venturis and entrepreneur. He retired from Owens-Illinois after 39 years of service. He was also as a business owner and manager of Hill’s Inspection License Auto Station of Waco. He empowered his sons to carry on his legacy of a family owned business “Just Stickers” with extreme evolvement in the process in our community.
He was member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in McGregor, Texas. He served as chairman of the Deacon Board and believed in the development of brotherhood through teaching and leadership as a firm example with dedication and service of the Church’s congregation.
He was loved by many. A loving father that cared deeply by showing leadership in his children and community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Almeda Dixon Hilliard; his father, Ollie Hilliard; mother, Myrtal Hilliard; a son, Jeffery Michael Hilliard, a daughter, Deloris Dianne Hilliard and brothers, Freddie D. Hilliard, FL Hilliard and Charles Hilliard.
He leaves to cherish: his wife of 22 years, Mrs. Effie Dawson Hilliard; daughters, Carolyn Hilliard and Dr. Janice Hilliard; sons, Lee Anthony Hilliard (Rosemary), Oscar Hilliard Jr. (Chris); John Hilliard (Von) and Damion Washington; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, co-workers, friends and associates who supported his dreams that loved him deeply.
