Nadine Horne the third child of Vernon L. and Norma J. Horne was born on February 9, 1961, in Waco, Texas.
She came to Christ at an early age. She joined the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful member throughout her youth.
She attended and graduated from Robinson Independent School District. She continued her education at MCC, Sam Houston State University, and Texas Southern University. She earned her degree in Special Education and Physical Education.
Nadine taught at Lamar University until she shagged her position at Ross Sterling where she taught for over twenty-five years. There she was the head Volleyball coach where she lead her team to many championships. She was known to all as “Coach Horne.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon L. and Norma J. Horne, and her beloved dog Mars.
She is survived by: her “big” brother, Darnell Horne, Sr. and wife, Linda; sister, Sandra Horne; nieces, LaKrisha, LaKeishea, Shalita and Tyniqua, Elisha and Olaiya; nephews, Kevin, Darnell, Jr., Tony, and DeWaileon; great-nieces, Megan, LaTalya, McKenzie and Tinley; great-nephews, Chrishard, Anthony, Gabriel, Bryson, and Eythan; two great-great nephews, one great-great-niece; aunt, Doris Johnson; special friends, Vicki Venable and Gloria “Grandma” Pickens; and a host of other family members and friends.
