Mildred Childers was born on July 29, 1949 in Satin, Texas to the late Clifton and Elma Mae London.
At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
In school, Mildred met her high school sweetheart, Willie B. Childers and from there they were inseparable. The couple gave birth to three children and led a prosperous and wonderful life.
She loved going out of town with her beloved husband, singing, cooking, and visiting her siblings on the regular. She also took pride in caring for her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She literally babysat everyone. Mildred also loved her husband to death. His nickname was “Dear”, which she called out until she took her last breath.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
On January 17, 2022, Mildred was called home to be with Jehovah.
She is survived by: her incredible and very devoted husband, Willie Childers; son; Anthony Childers (Chanda), daughters; Trena Harris (Henry) and Trevia O’Neal (Remond); brothers, Melvin London (Arnita) and Billy Fred London; sisters, Mary Jean McKenzie (Carlos); Ruthie Mason (Ronnie); Rosie Faye Douglas and Doris Burkley (Kelvin); 23 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mildred also was loved by her congregation and friends who endured her too.
