Linda Collins

Linda Nell Collins was born on June 24, 1952 in Midland, Texas to Mark Luitenent Edwards and Jossie Mae Edwards. She later relocated to Waco, Texas where she resided with H.L and Helen Thompson and attended AJ Moore High School where she was a Majorette.

Linda grew up loving the church and was a fierce woman of God. She enjoyed singing and praising in her earlier years at Good Samaritan Baptist Church.

Her peers remember her as a sweet girl who always had good things to say about others. Linda was known for her heart of gold and for always wearing a smile. She offered kindness to everyone she met and loved others without judgment. She had special bonds with her aunts Helen (H.L) and Mary Swindell (Willie) and grew up especially close to her siblings and cousins.

Linda was joined in marriage to her husband Travis Collins Sr and to this union, five children were born.

She went home to be with Lord on September 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and siblings, Rosemary, Raymond Edwards, Anthony Edwards, Walter Edwards; husband, Travis Collins Sr., and son Travis Collins Jr.

Linda was a devoted wife and mother who leaves to cherish: three daughters; Tamara Collins, Travonne Johnson (Leonard), and Terroni Collins; one son Terrance Collins; ten grandchildren Michael Armand (Brittany), Michelle Nava (Carlos), Byronchayla, Jermaine, Tavarian, Taiah, Jordan, Jaylon, Jacob, and Ty Avery; six great-grandchildren Diangello, Emilio, Valentino, Aliyah, Jasi, and Callen; seven siblings, Roberta, Jo Katheryn, Alma, Tony, Janice (Darlene), Jaclyn (Paul), and Paul; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and church family and friends who she loved dearly.
