LaTonia Davis

LaTonia Denise Harris was born April 25, 1961 to Eddie Harris and Doris Earl Briscoe (Harris) Grady. She was born and raised in Waco, Texas and later moved to Houston, Texas in the early 1980's.

She attended Jefferson Moore and graduated in 1979. She participated in sports and was a member of the flag guard for the band. She continued her educational pursuit in the Houston area with a focus in Criminal Justice at Texas Southern University.

She worked as a law clerk for several law firms. Toni worked for United Airlines as a ramp agent. She also worked as a prison guard for the TDCJ Memorial Unit formerly known as the Darrington Unit.

She earned a Black Belt at Young Brothers Tae Kwon Do. Toni studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do.

Toni loved being around her family and friends, and was the life of the party. She was proud of being a grandmother and the oldest grandchild of “Ollie Mae''. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Harris and Cleo Harris; brother, Andre Harris; great uncles, James Briscoe, Sue Watkins, Isaiah Monroe, Ray Monroe and Lonrenga Briscoe; great aunts, Annie Woods, Mable Hardwick, Lovie Miller, Sarah Jackson, Earnestine Brown, Bernice Gooden, Lois Richards, and Roberta Kendrick.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her father, Eddie Harris and step mother, Rita Harris; children, TaNechia Sweat (Jimmy), Terence Davis and Kristen Davis (Sherl); grandchildren, Xavier Davis, Ariel Sweat, Kaiden Davis, Kameron Davis, Kya Davis, Xion Davis, Jeremiah Sweat, Shawn Davis and Nathan Davis; siblings, Darryl Harris (Ruth), Tracey Harris, Claudia Rogosch-Kenny (Eddie) and Oliver Harris (Suschada); aunts, Dr. Lula Briscoe-Henry, Alica Whitlow, Clarine Jackson and Inez Easley; uncles, Claud Harris Jr., and Archie Harris; first cousins/siblings, Wentress (Donnell) Bailey, Tammy L. Gindratt, Rev. Dr. Tara L.
