On April 7, 1944, a blessed event took place, a baby boy, Johnnie “John” L. White was born to the union of Arthur and Easter Deckard White.
As a youth, he joined Pleasant Grove Church under the leadership of Rev. Ross. He received his education through the McLennan County School.
He married Betty White in 1986.
He was a very faithful, dedicated, and hard worker at Luby’s Cafeteria. He was a loyal, loving, and caring person who loved his family and friends. The love he expressed to everyone was genuine and unconditional. In 2016, he joined the Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Petty.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty White; siblings, Early White, Jessie Mae Slaughter, John Henry White, Luberta Mays, Naomi Daily, Tommy Mae Daniels, and James White. Arthur was also preceded in death by his special friends, Nathaniel Hamilton, Pam McDonald (nurse), and Willie Thornton.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Joyce M. White of Waco, Texas; stepson, Ronnie White of Waco, Texas; step-granddaughter, Alicia White of Waco, Texas; sisters, Mary Foster and Ella Mae Martin both of Waco, Texas; special niece, Gail Hamilton of Waco, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
