James Johnson

James L. Johnson was born on September 18, 1941 to the parentage of Rufus Johnson Sr. and Mrs. Odessa Johnson.

He attended A.J. Moore High School. After graduation James began working at Baylor University where he retired after 20 years of service. He also worked at Certainteed where he retired after 10 years of service. 

He was a faithful and devoted member of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon and President of the Sunday School. He was also a Sunday School Teacher.   

He departed this life on December 8, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Johnson Sr. and Odessa Johnson and brother, Cecil Johnson. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Shirley Johnson; one daughter, Ursula Rorie; three sisters, Joyce Mims, Deloris Moon and Clara (Dale) Naylor; three brothers, Rufus Johnson Jr., John Johnson (Shirley) and Edward Johnson; one sister-in-law, Sarah Johnson and a host of relatives and friends.
