Deacon Howard Lee Iglehart, Sr. was born March 3, 1931, to Clarence and Willie Iglehart in Waco, Texas. He was the youngest of three sons.
He graduated from A. J. Moore High School in 1949. He was a graduate of Paul Quinn College and he served in the U.S. Navy.
Howard accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He later united with the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was a faithful member and church worker until his death.
Howard worked as a Cement Finisher for Austin Bridge and Road until his retirement. He loved watching sports, gardening, and fishing. He was a great cook and BBQ Master.
He married Mildred Barefield in 1981 and they remained married until his death.
Howard passed away peacefully on Friday, October 22, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Willie Iglehart, and his brothers, Clarence Jr., and Charles Iglehart.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Mildred Iglehart of Waco Texas; devoted children, Diana Alexander (Frederick) of Centerville Ohio, Jacquelyn Iglehart of Arlington Texas, Gregory Iglehart, Sr. (Stephanie) of Waco Texas, Howard Iglehart, Jr. of Dallas Texas and Vondra Shaw (Curtis) of Augusta, Georgia; stepdaughter, Cynthia Barefield Johnson of Houston Texas; his grandchildren, Jhannelle Kendall (Gavin), Frederic Alexander, Gregory Iglehart Jr., Terrance Iglehart, Jonathan Iglehart, Jasman Johnson, Kristen Iglehart Boston (Chris), Sky Iglehart, Trymaine Shaw, Tristan Shaw, and Kagan Johnson; sister-in-law, Emma Iglehart, one living aunt, Martha Iglehart Mason; and a host great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
