Fermis Howard Jr. was born on November 15, 1931 to Fermis Howard Sr. and Sarah Ann Howard in Robinville, Texas. He was the oldest of ten siblings (five brothers and four sisters).
He departed this life on February 6, 2024, he was preceded in death by his parents, Fermis Howard Sr. and Ann Sarah Howard, wife, Evelyn Webb Howard, brothers, J.W., Virgil, Morris and Charles and sisters, Shirley and Nancy.
He grew up in Waco, Texas and attended Moore High School. He started there in the 1st grade and graduated from the 12th grade. After graduation from high school, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps during the Korean war. After serving in the Korean war, he retired after the Vietnam war. In 1956, while stationed at the Marine Corp. Recruit Training Depot at Parris Island, South Carolina he married Evelyn Webb. Fermis and Evelyn started their family with two wonderful children Fermis Howard III and Patricia Ann Howard. He and Evelyn were married 66 years until her demise in 2022.
Fermis served 21 years in the Marine Corps, when he retired, he and his family moved back to Waco, Texas. He worked at several places before retiring from the work force. He worked for Owen Illinois Glass Plant, Container Plane, Marriot Hotel, M&M Mars Candy Factory, and Visiting Angels Home Health Care.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Fermis Howard III and Patricia Ann Howard; grandchildren, Kenneth Parlove (Jennifer) and Cortney Hayes (Cedric) of Los Angels, California; great granddaughters, Auryana Parlove and Amari Parlove; sisters, Dorothy Christian and Katherine Fogel; brother, Larry Howard (Dianne) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
