Fannie Jones Obituary

The Celebration of Life began on August 21, 1953, for Jim West and Maxcine Connor giving birth to a baby girl named Fannie Jane Lee in Hubbard, Texas.

She received her formal education from Hubbard Independent School District. She met and married Melvin Jones in 1971. To this union, five beautiful children were born.

Fannie was gainfully employed as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) through Mexia State School and Oakview Manor. She left her employment to take care of her father Jim West until his demise. She returned back to work with Quality Care Nursing Home for 10 years until her health began to decline.

She accepted Christ at a young age and joined Brown Hill Baptist Church. She later joined Lovely Hope Baptist Church under Pastor Gary L. Burton where she took on several roles. She served as an Usher, on the Pastor’s Aide Committee and Culinary Committee.

Fannie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Jones; parents, Jim and Maxcine Connor; three brothers, Travis Lee, Pyerice Lee, and Jimmy West, and one grandson, Darius Bell.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: the love of her life of 26 years, Michael Benson; son, Melvin R. Jones (LaVerra); daughters, Erica Jones (Cornelius), Monia Jones (Lynn), Evelyn Jean Jones and Evelyn Joyce Jones (Ronald); great-grandchildren, Adriana Jones, A’mare Wagoner and A’mir Wagoner whom she legally adopted; sisters, Jerri Jo Davis (who raised her) of Hubbard, Texas, Henerietta Silmon of Ft.
