"His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." – Matthew 25:21

Clarence Richmond was the fourth child born to the parentage of Henry Jr. and Mary D. Richmond, May 16, 1941. He accepted Christ at an early age at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church where he served untirelessly.

In the early years, Clarence attended East Waco Elementary School, J. Newton Jenkins Elementary School, A.J. Moore High School and graduated from George Washington Carver High School, class of 1959. His school years were phenomenal. He acquired athletic lettering in basketball, baseball (pitcher), football (quarterback), and tennis. After graduation, he attended Prairie View A & M University and Paul Quinn College. Clarence was a trailblazer to help organize the first George Washington Carver All School Reunion of which he was chairman.

Clarence worked for the Waco Housing Authority and during that time was drafted into the United States Armed Services. There he served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. At this time of his life, he met and married the love of his life, Elma J. Simmons. On November 26, 2016, they celebrated fifty (50) years of marriage.

In his transition into civilian life, Clarence was employed and retired from the United States Postal Service after thirty years.

At Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Deacon Richmond’s servitude was relentless and packed with duties. He served as Sunday School superintendent and teacher, member of the Brotherhood and Bible teacher, chairman of the Deacon Board and mentored incoming deacons. He was a member of the Church Improvement Committee, a member of the male chorus, helped distribute Thanksgiving baskets, initiated the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church Academic Scholarship, and chaired along with his wife Elma, the annual Family and Friends Day.

His love for people and jovial personality called him to volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He loved life’s joys, his family, church family, fishing, golfing, and sports.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, brother Henry Richmond, III., and his sister Joyce La Faye Richmond
