Christine Veola (Vaughn) Gray was born on August 29, 1936, to the late Willie and Mattie Vaughn in Waco, Texas.
Christine attended school in the Waco Independent School District.
Christine accepted Christ at an early age and devoted herself to God.
She was employed as a Nanny for many years.
She met and married Ira Tomlinson and to this union, five children were born. Upon his passing, she met and married Curtis “Bo” Gray on February 8, 1971, which brought forth four stepchildren.
She enjoyed life to the fullest, devoting her life to the fullest devoting herself to her family and friends.
She was a longtime member of the Toliver Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. As Christine’s health began to decrease, she moved to Temple and joined the Corinth Missionary Baptist Church under watch care.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Willie Mae Vaughn and one daughter, Cheryl Tomlinson Danner.
She leaves to cherish her spirit and memory: two daughters, Orma Nell Tomlinson of Austin, Texas and Shirley Denise Nemons (Gary) of Temple, Texas; three sons, Ira Wendell Tomlinson (Mary) of Waco, Texas, Glen Tomlinson (Althea) of Nacogdoches, Texas and Ronell Tomlinson (Michael) of Columbus, Ohio; four stepchildren, Sheila Stramler, Curtis (Bo) Gray Jr of Austin, Texas, Stevie Jo Turner and Yulander Bledsoe of Waco, Texas; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Wiggins (John) of Houston, Texas; and a host of cousins, extended family and loving friends.
