Mr. Booker Tom McKinney, Jr was born August 11, 1959, to his loving parents Booker Sr. and Jimmie McKinney.
He was lovingly known as “Booker T.” or “Jr.” by his friends and loved ones.
Booker attended public school in Waco, Texas where he was a graduate of Richfield Senior High School. Later, he served in the United States Marine Corps from August 6, 1979, until February 18, 1983, where he was relieved of his service with an honorable discharge.
Booker T. worked faithfully at the former Hercules Inc. in McGregor, Texas. His career path later landed him at Coca-Cola, where he retired after 20 years.
Brother McKinney was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Carl L. Buhl, Sr. He later began attending Toliver Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership of Dr. Jimmy D. Hunter until the time of his passing.
Bro. McKinney departed this life on March 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Booker T. Sr and Jimmie Lee McKinney.
Left to cherish his memories: his wife of 29 years, Mrs. Charlotte McKinney; four children, Jacquetta Dudley, Colrisa McKinney, Bryce McKinney and Charleston McKinney; one stepdaughter, Lynette Burton; five siblings, Willie McKinney (Jeannie), Linda Cobbs, Betty McKinney, Dianne Columbus, and Alice McKinney; 11 grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
